Aesthetics appreciation and talent development

This year, the school has offered more opportunities for the students to showcase their artistic talents. From a Musicals performance (Les Miserable) by The Vocal Group to “An Afternoon of Chamber Music II” presented by the Western Orchestra, our students have put up numerous performances for parents, student and staff. There is also a musical exchange programme with National Junior College String Orchestra (from Singapore).

Our art students regularly host exhibitions to showcase their creative works. Our DP2 Visual Art students presented their art pieces at their graduating art exhibition in March this year while the Art department held our SIS(HK)’s Art Exhibition “OASIS: Our Art in SIS 16 (Pri)” at Artland Art Gallery which showcased more than 100 pieces of artworks from P1 to P6, and artworks collaboratively created by our Artist-in-Residence ArMeChan and our S1 students. Our students’ art works have also been recognized and validated at competitions, local and overseas.

Promoting international-mindedness

Our school has been active in providing opportunities for students to understand more about the world. Annually, our students participate in Windows of the World (WOW) trips overseas. This year, our students visited these countries:
Secondary 1 students – China
Secondary 2 students – India
Secondary 3 students – Spain
Diploma Programme Year 1 students – Cambodia and China

Furthermore, our Model United Nations (MUN) interest group in school has ventured to Seoul, Korea for the annual MUN conference. Inspired by their experiences, our students organised our very own SISHKMUN for the first time and hosted another school in our campus.
