Silver for SISHK student in UOB Art in Ink Award 2017

Joelle Ho Aiwen, a DP1 student, celebrated the end of 2017 with a silver in the UOB Art in Ink Award 2017 under the Abstract: Senior Student category.

Joelle’s award-winning artwork, Face 面对, was inspired by a quote from Søren Kierkegaard, a 19th century Danish philosopher, “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards”. It was created by applying ink to the artist’s face and printing it into paper. The painting serves as a reminder to Joelle to keep moving forward; to “face” her problems and to stay true to herself.

The school congratulates Joelle, her family and the Visual Arts Department on this achievement!
